It’s been one hell of a week….. I went from being super excited about my vacation to Florida for a week to isolation and stress. I don’t think anyone really expected the Coronavirus to take over the entire world this fast, but it did. I have several couples concerned about their wedding days and seeing how this is impacting everyone is truly breaking my heart. In the midst of all this disaster and sadness, I was looking forward to blogging about this wedding.

Donald + Lauren were married on LEAP DAY!!!! And if someone were to get an award for having the most unique wedding date, it must go to these guys!!! It was a super chilly winter day and full of love and smiles. I’ve known Lauren since I was a baby and her family is very close to my own. The fact she wanted me to be their wedding photographer and be a part of their special day meant so much to me!!!!

We started the day at Lauren’s childhood home where all the ladies were getting ready before we headed to the Rochester City Hall for the first look and some photos. It’s always great having a backup location for winter weddings in case it’s too cold to do all the pictures outdoors. As much as I love snowy wedding photos, you never know if you’ll get a perfect 30-40 degree day OR under 20 degrees. After finishing up, we drove to Highland Park for a few photos before going to their venue. Blades Bar & Grill was a new venue for me and even though they aren’t known for weddings, I loved their location and their industrial vibe. Thank you both so much for thinking of me and having me be your wedding photographer!!!! I’m sure you are spending a lot of time quarantined together and had no idea this would be a part of your first month being married, but I’m glad you both have one another!!! Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Monacelli!!
