Rochester Institute of Technology - Rochester Engagement Session | Derek + Michelle

Can we just talk about the importance of locations for a quick second?!! For engagement sessions location is KEY!!!! Of course I have my favorite spots, but for certain couples the location for an engagement session can also be a meaningful one. It can be a favorite place they go with one another, their own home, or even where they met one another. Michelle wasn't sure if she wanted a location she saw on my blog or if she wanted to take them at Rochester Institute of Technology (where her and Derek met .) I kept telling her you have to pick R.I.T. because it's so special to them. It's where they first met, it's where they spent a ton of time together AND it's where Derek proposed to Michelle. Seemed like a no brainer to me, but Michelle wasn't sure if it had enough things to be a location option. I have taken pictures on a college campus before and walking around with a photographer's prospective.... I love college campuses! R.I.T. reminded me a lot of SUNY Oswego (where I went to school.) The mix of old and new buildings, a ton of landscaping and stunning views.... not to mention the incredible sunset we were gifted. I'm so thankful we ran into one of my past grooms who works as a University of Police on campus. At first I thought I was in trouble, but then I saw it was Jake!!! He brought us to a killer spot on campus with a rooftop view and we took some photos that are just gorgeous!!! Thank you so much Jake! You're the best. I had so much fun hanging out with you guys and I can't wait for your wedding at the Arbor Loft in April! Congratulations Derek + Michelle!!!
